Our Story

Chippy & Sons began long before the name was born.

It started with one carpenter, The Wandering Chippy, who travelled up and down the East Coast and through Tasmania, taking on jobs wherever the road led. Those years were filled with craft, hard work, and the freedom of building something new in every place.

Eventually the wandering slowed. We put down roots, built a home, and grew a family. With little ones running around and a community to call our own, it was time for a new chapter. 

That’s when Chippy & Sons was created. “Chippy” to honour those early days on the road, and “Sons” to reflect the family we’ve grown into today.

What started as one set of tools and a love for carpentry has become a family business grounded in values, craftsmanship, and care. Our story is about so much more than just timber and nails but about building a life, a legacy, and a future we’re proud to share with our community.
